Statements are never stored
Files are processed in memory to build your spreadsheet, then discarded. They are not written to disk, kept in a database, or used to train AI.
Accounts are optional
The converter works the same without an account. If you create one, we keep only your email address. Nothing from your statements.
Free, with no ads or tracking
There is nothing to pay and nothing to sell. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and never track you across other sites.
Who we are
ReconcileBank ("we", "us") provides the bank statement conversion service at reconcilebank.com. For any privacy question or request, email support@reconcilebank.com.
Your bank statements
When you upload a statement, our servers read it in memory to extract the transactions and check that the balances reconcile, then send the result back to your browser. The file and its contents are not saved to disk, not kept in any database, not written to our logs, and not used to train any AI model. Once the response is sent, nothing from the statement remains with us.
The "recently converted" list on the homepage is stored only in your own browser's local storage, on your device. We cannot see it. You can remove it at any time with Clear history, or by clearing your browser data.
Account information
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we hold your email address and, if you add them to your profile, your name and profile picture. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, which stores this information and the credentials used to keep you signed in.
Abuse protection
To keep the free service available to everyone, we count requests from each IP address in ten-minute windows and briefly slow down any address that sends far more than a person would. These counters hold only the address and a number, never statement content, expire after about ten minutes, and are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon.
Counters from the free-trial limit that existed before 22 September 2026 are no longer used and expire automatically by 23 October 2026.
Cookies
We use only cookies that are strictly necessary: if you create an account, Clerk sets session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Service providers
We rely on these providers to run the service, each processing data only on our behalf:
- Vercel - hosting and running the application
- Clerk - optional sign-in and account management
- Neon - database for the rate-limit counters
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Why we process your data
Under the GDPR, we process account data to provide the account you asked for (performance of a contract), and rate-limit counters to prevent abuse and keep the free service available to everyone (legitimate interests).
How long we keep it
- Uploaded statements - not kept at all
- Account information - until you ask us to delete your account
- Rate-limit counters - about ten minutes
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email support@reconcilebank.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in Latvia that is the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
