Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use ReconcileBank at reconcilebank.com ("the service"). By using the service you agree to them. If you are using it on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to accept them for that business.

ReconcileBank converts PDF bank statements into spreadsheet files and checks whether the extracted transactions reconcile with the opening and closing balances printed on the statement.

Automated extraction can make mistakes, particularly with unusual layouts, scanned documents or damaged files. The reconciliation check is designed to catch errors, but it cannot guarantee that every figure is correct, and a statement marked as not verified has not been checked at all.

You are responsible for reviewing the output before using it for accounting, tax, lending, legal or any other decision. The service is a tool to save time, not professional financial or accounting advice.

Only upload statements you are entitled to process. Uploaded files are processed to produce your results and are not stored, as described in our Privacy Policy. You keep all rights to your documents and to the spreadsheets produced from them.

You can use a limited number of conversions without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure and your email address current - you are responsible for activity under your account.

Visitors can convert a small number of statements for free without an account, and free accounts receive a monthly allowance. Paid plans include the monthly number of conversions shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Unused conversions do not carry over to the next month.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars, and applicable taxes may be added where required.

You can cancel at any time from Billing in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep your plan until then.

If ReconcileBank does not work for you, email support@reconcilebank.com within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Apart from that guarantee, payments for periods that have already started are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

If you are a consumer, you also have rights under the laws of your country of residence, including within the European Union, and nothing in these terms limits them.

You agree not to:

• upload documents you have no right to process, or use the service for anything unlawful;
• try to get around usage limits, for example by creating accounts in bulk or automating the free allowance;
• interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or overload it with automated requests;
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

We work to keep the service running and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

To the extent the law allows, ReconcileBank is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on output you did not review. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects you, we will let you know before it applies; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Latvia. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory protections of, and bring proceedings in, the country where you live.
